The Temperate House at Kew is the greatest glasshouse in the world. Built between 1859 and 1899 it has now been restored to house 10,000 plants made up of 1,500 species, including some of the rarest and most threatened on Earth. Whilst retaining its Victorian splendour this architectural wonder is also a beacon for contemporary plant research and education. This book is the perfect souvenir to celebrate the reopening of the Temperate House, and details the changes that have occurred in its 155 years, all accompanied with fascinating archival photographs and botanical illustrations. Central to the book is a pull out double page section detailing the new planting and layout of the House.
