Kew Limited Edition Greek Oak Honey
Big earthy flavours and complex florals blend with the resinous character of this honey to give a set of warm aromatic caramels, reminiscent of dark molasses.
Perfect for when you need something naturally sweet. Enjoy with traditional Greek yoghurt or simply spread on a warm slice of sourdough.
This is a monovarietal honey, harvested at the end of July from hives placed in the oak forests near to Mount Olympus. The Greek oak trees the bees feed on give this honey its robust character & a deep, dark colour that resembles molasses. Oak tree honey has a complex taste and is less sweet than nectar honeys.
This Greek honey variety is produced by artisan bee-keeper Alexandros Gousiaris, who lovingly tends to his hives throughout the year, moving them seasonally to give the bees access to different native herbs and flora as well as protect them from harsh winter weather.
Made only in small batches, the honey is cold-extracted, unfiltered, unpasteurised and unprocessed, ensuring its nutritional properties are preserved.
Greek Oak Tree Raw Honey is high in Maganese (0.89mg of manganese per 100g), which contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism and maintainance of normal bones.
