Physalis Edulus Peruviana (Golden Berry) Seeds
Product Description
These Golden Berry seeds produce delicious, sweet berries in abundance, Physalis Peruviana is an easy-to-grow exotic fruit, adding a novel tropical flavour to your home harvests.
Originating from South America, it’s surprisingly simple to grow but an expensive fruit to buy in the supermarket. Just treat it the same as its relative – the tomato. The juicy fruits have a pineapple tang and a tomato-like texture. Enjoy them fresh off the plant, in salads and desserts or dried and used like raisins.
Please note – aside from the fruit, all parts of this plant are poisonous.
They’re notably rich in Vitamins C and B3. Once fully mature they’ll store for several weeks.

Growing tips:
- Sow months: March to May
- Harvest time: from July to September, when husks turn papery and fruit is golden-orange
- Sow in spring at 20°C in a good seed compost. Keep soil damp but not wet. Seal in a polythene bag after sowing is helpful. Germination usually takes 21-30 days.
