David G. Frodin was an American botanist, known as a leading expert on the flora of Papua New Guinea. He was appointed as a senior scientific officer at the Herbarium at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew in 1993. Following his retirement in 2000, he stayed on at Kew as a Honorary Research Associate.

Rafaël H A Govaerts is a Senior Content Editor in the Department of Digital Revolution at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. His work involves the compilation and curation of core plant names datasets.
