Description

Southern Spain, and Andalucia in particular, is home to many common garden plants, including daffodils, lavenders and shrubs. And yet it is also one of the most florally diverse regions in the world. This book will help you identify plants that range from the familiar to the astonishing.

Author Tony Hall has visited Andalucia numerous times over the past 15 years, building his understanding of its flora and ecosystems, while recording his observations in notes and photography. In this book Tony shares his detailed understanding of the wild plants of the region, from plants of the sandy Mediterranean and Atlantic beaches, to some of the highest mountains in Europe. Over 500 species are beautifully illustrated throughout with over 600 high quality photos and distribution maps. This is an essential guide for anyone wanting to understand more about the flowers of this region.

Here is a guide written by a man who actually wants you to see the many joyous things he has seen and to share his pleasure at the riotous diversity of one of the most plant rich regions of Europe…This marvellous guide makes you want to pack up your hiking boots and book the first flight out. Tim Smit, The Eden Project

If an untutored delight in the beauties of nature can be enhanced, it is by the study and naming of plants, and Tony Hall’s Wild Plants of Southern Spain is a pleasing and painless way to set about it. Chris Stewart, Andalucian author of Driving Over Lemons

Tony Hall brings the plants of Southern Spain and Andalucia to life in a fascinating and easy-to-use compendium that will delight both amateurs and professionals alike. Reckless Gardener
