Description

This attractive collection of seeds features artwork from The Marianne North gallery at Kew. Marianne North was a remarkable Victorian artist with a great eye for botanical detail and noted for her plant and landscape paintings as well as her extensive travels and plant discoveries. Her gallery at Kew houses over 800 of her paintings, one of which is printed on the seed packet.

This seed collection includes:

Poppy Seeds: The 'Album' variety of poppy is a beautiful hardy annual with gorgeous cup-shaped flowers. The flowers fade to make way for attractive seed heads containing edible seeds that can be added when making breads and cakes. Sow outdoors in Spring or autumn in a full sun position.

Morning Glory Seeds: These 'Heavenly Blue' morning glory (Ipomoea) seeds are presented in a beautiful Marianne North printed seed packet and will produce an elegant free-flowering climber. Ideal for trellises, fences and poles, it will also grow well in conservatories and greenhouses. Sow from December to March on the surface of pots filled with a moist peat compost. After a few years, these intriguing little plants should be mature enough to devour small insects.

'Insect Eating' Sarracenia Seeds: Each packet contains 7 seeds of the endlessly fascinating Sarracenia species 'New Hybrids Mix'. Sow from December to March on the surface of pots filled with a moist peat compost. After a few years, these intriguing little plants should be mature enough to devour small insects.

Cactus 'Special Mix' Seeds: Each packet contains a variety of easy-to-grow cacti that are well suited to window sills, sun rooms or greenhouses. Average contents include 20 seeds from 8 cacti variety: Carnegia Gigantes, Ferocactus aconthodes, Ferrocactus wislenzii, Lemairocereus thurberi, Opuntis phaecantha, Opuntis chtotica, Pachycereus pringlii, Clyindropuntia imbricata.
