This postcard shows the beautiful Kew Gardens A Pageant poster, produced in 1933 by the designer F Gregory Brown, and taken from London Transport Museum’s archive.

Kew Gardens has collaborated with the London Transport Museum to bring you this fantastic range.  All designs are taken from the London Transport Museum’s rich archive of Kew Posters and were designed by Betty Swanick, Alfred Fontville de Breanski, Dora M Batty and f Gregory Brown between 1915 and 1940.

F Gregory Brown (A Pageant Poster) born 1887, died 1941. Designed posters for the Underground Group and London Transport 1914-1940.

Biography: F Gregory Brown began his career in the 1900s as an art metalworker. He was a founder member of the Design and Industries Association in 1915. In addition to designing posters for London Underground, railway companies and the Empire Marketing Board, he was a well known landscape painter, illustrator, metal worker and textile designer. He won a gold medal at the 1925 Paris Exhibition of Decorative Arts for textile design
