Specially selected by the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew Spinach Picasso F1 Hybrid (Spinacia oleracea) is a dark green, semi-savoy-leaved variety producing plenty of 'baby leaves'.
Sow seeds from March to August. Keep well watered during dry weather.
As well as being delicions, spinach is rich in Vitamins A and C, beta-carotene, lutein (which helps protect against eye disease) and dietary fibre.
Spinach can be grown all round the year during winter time in a sunny windowsill and during summer can be grown in a small area in your garden.
When picked as Baby leaves are excellent as a green addition to salads and also can be quickly steamed or boiled.
Spinach is a rich source of vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin K, magnesium, foliate, iron, vitamin B2, calcium, potassium, vitamin B6, folic acid, copper, protein, zinc, and omega-3 fatty acids.
